He was the world's greatest whitewater kayaker once upon a time, but now Wade Jones is a broken has-been. Lured into one last summer on the wild Arkansas River in Colorado, he joins up with the River Rats, hard-drinking, fun-loving hardcore whitewater enthusiasts. Wade's will, mettle and honesty as a husband are tested when an old girlfriend arrives on the river with her beauty, power and the smell of money to change things.
