Lured into a summer on the wild Arkansas River in Colorado, Wade Jones joins up with the River Rats, fun-loving, hardcore, whitewater kayakers. Wade's mettle and personal honesty as a husband are tested when an old girlfriend arrives on the river. She wants to steal him away from his wife, using the wild river as an asset. His old coach and a mysterious teenager show up on the river, too. Everyone wants something. The snake-like river wants something from Wade too. Maybe his life.
